This book actually consists of two books originally published in 1930 and 1959.
Book One: origin of the breed and the breed in various countries (China, Holland, England, France, etc.), black and other colored Pugs, the 20th Century Pug, the Pug in America, the breed Standard (1930 standard is out-of-date).
Book Two: Origins of the breed and development of physical characteristics, some early show dogs, contemporary dogs, formation of the breed club, illustrated discussion of the Standard, breeding (mating and whelping), feeding (puppy to adult), general management (kennelling, exercise, housetraining, grooming, health problems, showing the Pug. There is also a selected Bibliography. Plenty of pictures, all black & white.
